About Edith Cowan University
Edith Cowan University (ECU) is a public university in Western Australia, established in 1991 from several tertiary colleges with roots back to 1902. It is named after Edith Cowan, the first woman elected to an Australian parliament. Its campuses are Joondalup, Mount Lawley (home of the WAAPA performing arts academy) and the South West campus in Bunbury. It is known for nursing, business, sport science, physiotherapy and early childhood education, and is ranked in the THE top 400. Students short of English scores can enter via Edith Cowan College.
