About Memorial University of Newfoundland - MUN

Memorial University of Newfoundland was founded in 1925 as a memorial to Newfoundlanders and Labradorians who died in the First World War. It is the largest university in Atlantic Canada and the only university in Newfoundland and Labrador, with about 19,000-19,400 students. The main St. John's campus is joined by Grenfell Campus in Corner Brook, the Fisheries and Marine Institute, the Labrador Campus and Harlow Campus in England. Memorial is known for engineering, medicine, business and ocean research (over 40% of its research is ocean-related), and its international tuition is among the lowest of Canadian research universities.
