Tampere University began in 2019 when the University of Tampere and Tampere University of Technology merged. It is a community of about 22,500 students and 4,200 staff from more than 80 countries, and offers 33 English-language master's programmes. It is strong in computing, electrical engineering, health, social sciences and peace and conflict research. Tampere is Finland's third-largest city.
